What is physiotherapy?
The Canadian Physiotherapy Association defines physiotherapy as "the management and prevention of many physical problems caused by illness, disease, sport and work related injury, aging and long periods of inactivity."
Here is a list of conditions that our skilled and efficient team can help you deal with:
Your treatment at Physio-Care would entail:
Physiotherapists must be registered with the regulatory board (College of Physiotherapists) in their province or territory in order to practise physiotherapy in Canada.
An initial physiotherapy session typically includes a thorough assessment, the development of a clinical impression, and the incorporation of an individualized treatment plan and goals with input from the client.
Count on us for a complete range of rehabilitation services, so you can go back to enjoying an active way of life.
This depends on your condition. Your physiotherapist will be able to give you a recommendation after the initial assessment.
The initial visit is usually longer and may be anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Subsequent sessions (depending on your condition) may take up to 45 to 90 minutes.
In case of motor vehicle accident and work injuries (WSIB), we provide direct billing, and your treatment sessions are totally covered. However, with extended health benefits, you should check with the insurance provider and their policy. (OHIP will cover physiotherapy for patients under 19 or over 65 years of age at designated clinics, but our services are not funded by OHIP.)
To set up an appointment, please contact us via phone, fax or email.
Physiotherapists are primary health care practitioners and therefore offer direct access to physiotherapy services without the need for a physician's referral. Some extended health insurance plans require a physician's referral; however, please check your insurance plan if in doubt.
Acupuncture is the insertion of very fine, sterile needles into therapeutic points. Acupuncture is done by Physiotherapists certified under CAFCI. It may alleviate many muscle, nerve and joint injuries. Surprisingly comfortable, patients describe a feeling of decreased pain, improved mental clarity and relaxation following acupuncture treatment.
We accept cash, cheques, VISA, MasterCard. We provide direct billing to WSIB, motor vehicle accident insurance company and some extended health insurance companies (some insurance companies will require you to pay ahead and reimburse later).
